FC AK were handed a Platinum Play-off spot after City Pillars were docked four points by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee for fielding an unregistered player in official league matches. City, who finished fourth in the 2006/07 Mvela Golden League, dropped down to fifth place, with AK moving up to fourth place which granted them a semi-final spot against AmaZulu.

Newly-appointed 'Bahumi' coach Alin Akan will take the hotseat, after the club's management decided not to recall Walter Rautmann for the play-offs.

Speculation has been rife that FC AK could use a number of relegated Maritzburg UTD like zimbabwean left back Bhasera, McVeigh, August, defenders Ivan Winstanley and Japie Motale and congolese striker Kabamba Musasa.

I am glad about AmaZulu, but i cant shut up about what happened in the SA system. They pratically played more in court than on the field. At first Pillars had to play, then Dynamos, then FC AK. I guess if the Pillars did wrong, then Dynamos deserved to play because also FC AK fielded unregistered players during the regular season. So the court and the SAFA decided that FC AK should play against AmaZulu. FC AK pratically dont have a team, just a group of free agent players, so for AmaZulu it's too easy to beat them. God forbidden i wont believe that everything was already decided to give a chance to AmaZulu to come back in PSL, I meant SAFA helped AmaZulu a bit in their play-off campaign. I dont know if Dynamos played against AmaZulu, the match was that "easy".

so FC AK are doomed. after spending all that money to get the players from PSL, their calculated risk didnt pay off. the only way is to sell the club again unless the management still has money "to waste"
