Benson Mhlongo is set to captain Bafana Bafana against Namibia in a friendly international in Windhoek making him the 24th South African skipper since 1992.

Coach Pitso Mosimane told media that when the new coach arrives he will select his own captain and Mhlongo will lead just for this match.

We haven't really had a strong captain since the departure of Rhoo and Tovey. Mabizela was a good choice but if only he had played regularly and stayed out of trouble for all these years

For now, I think Mhongo will do a goo job. I never really trusted Mokoena as our leader. We can have Nzama is the leader also. Good captains are mainly central defenders or defesive midfielders

I think It was a wise decision by Pitso to give the armband to Benson. lets see what he can do.

maybe I should get start getting a coaching Badge for 2010. it will come handy on 5 January 2010 when SAFA announces a new coach to take the National team to the AFCON after they have fired Gordon who was replacing Tovey and Tovey himself would be a replacement for Perreira

Laughing Laughing

We have another Captain again

Nasief Morris will captain Bafana Bafana when they take on Congo in a 2008 Nations Cup qualifier at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The Panathinaikos defender replaces Benson Mhlongo to become the 25th Bafana captain and says he is looking forward to the task. “It’s a big honour to be appointed as the captain of the national team,” says the player speaking from the Bafana Bafana camp in Sandton

when are we going to stop? Wink

the sooner we elect our long-term captain the better. this chopping and changing won't help us at all.

If Nonda is there, he will lead the attack but he is not fully fit. Lua-Lua is out injured. and Zola will always be a dangerman with his left foot...
