Pirates appoint new coachOrlando Pirates have appointed Serbian Milutin Sredojevic as their new head coach, to replace Kosta Papic, who resigned at the end of last season and joined Maritzburg United.
Buccaneers chairman Irvin Khoza admitted that it was between Sredojevic and South Korean assistant coach, Dutchman Pim Verbeek.
“It was a tough call to make. I had to make a decision between two great CV’s,” Khoza told the club’s official website.
“The man is a hard worker. I could not believe a coach based in Ethiopia would have so much knowledge about PSL teams. It was unbelievable,” said Khoza.
Sredojevic, who is currently coaching St George in Ethiopa, is expected in the country on June 23 and will immediately take charge to start preparing Pirates for the tough CAF Champions League.

Everyone envy the type of football played by O.Pirates recently, however they are not scoring goals.I think this was the area Pirates were supposed to correct than acquiring a new coach. They were supposed to let Teboho continue with the rythm they have built but find a good finisher/striker which I believe they have Mwape for that role.Is just that he was not given enough game time and patience by the team.Manenze is also a good scorer.
But bringing a new coach may hamper the rythm as he may try to introduce a new pattern and style of play, which usually takes time for the players to adjust to.
Good luck,bucaneers!!!

thats what i was thinking also two birds. Papic did a good job with our boys even though he didn't win anything. but all that work is going down the drain. Tebza knows what system they were using and he would have just corrected the goal-scoring problems.
