Yeah, well done to Pirates for making South Africa proud. This goes out to Sundowns also for thrashing Namibia 5-0. It shows that the standard of our soccer is not so bad.

Yeah not too bad hey ... Id say the standard here is Top 3 in Africa .. its our organistion that sets us appart though

Looking @ leasgues like Cameroon, Nigeria ... eish ... its helva hard there and not so great organisational wise ...

but Id say we can compete with the Tunisia's Egypts of the continent in terms of league standard ...

but the real test of quality is the mid log teams ... Swallows , Silver Stars , Santo's ... they have to bring up the rear and centre ...

Id like to see more of the mid log clubs playing freindlys against foreign oposition

eg from Mozambique , Angola , Ghana ...

Since th Vodacom Challenge is no longer with African teams , maybe Swallows , Golden Arrows , Santos can organise a preseason tournemnt against aHEarts of Oak or Casablanca ...

should be MUCH cheaper than bringing ManUnited ( C team here )R 10 milion

but what Id really love to see is ... a layoff series against a South American team .. THAT WOULD be intresting !

YES YES , COme fellow South African's .. Pirates is playing this saturday .. Just to remind U ...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Orlando Pirates will look to repeat their miraculous victory over Asec Mimosa of 11 years ago when they travel to Abidjan for a crucial African Champions League Group B clash this weekend.

Pirates shocked Asec 1-0 in the final of the continental club championships in 1995 to become the only southern African side to lift the Champions League trophy.

Pirates will seek to win on Saturday, particularly as they welcome back Edward Malinga, Lucas Thwala and Innocent Mdledle from injury.

Even so, they can afford defeat and still qualify for the semifinals.

They can do so next week, when Enyimba, of Nigeria, travel to Ellis Park for the final clash.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want a South African Side in the Semi's .. they guys have surprised me a bit and theyr improving with their nu coach hey .. maybe that or its sumthing else but 1 draw in a COULDRIN like Enyimba and a win recently ..augurs GOOD now all of a sudden .. A win is a must !!

SO lets pray for them ... We need our clubs to do well in these comps ... this is OUR Chamipions league .. but its lik e the Baymed cup is faar more important or sumthing ...

COME ON BUCS !!!

We have to win this game at all costs even if it means using cheat tactics. all teams around africa are cheating also, so why should we be the honest ones who end up in the losing end all the time.

Boasting four Tunisian internationals in their team, CS Sfaxien could prove to be a tough nut for Orlando Pirates to crack at Ellis Park on Saturday when the two meet in the first leg of their CAF Club Championship semi finals.

The Soweto giants have survived many storms on their road in this year’s competition and their strong character will come under scrutiny once again.

However, like a true captain, Tonic Chabalala is confident that the Bucs’ ship will weather the storm at Ellis Park this weekend.

“At this stage we can’t afford to let the cup slip out of our hands. We have worked hard to reach this stage and there is no room for disappointment’.

“We have been working hard at training and the coach has been working on plan with us to beat them,” Chabalala told Kick Off.

As he did against Enyimba a fortnight ago, Nigerian midfielder Onyekachi Okonkwo could be the main man to plan Sfaxien’s downfall on Saturday.

Sfaxien, the only one of the four semifinalists who have not won the competition, will arrive highly rated as they hold the proud record of having beaten current defending champions, Egypt’s Al-Ahly, during the group stages of the tournament.

Sfaxien ended a 78-match unbeaten run by the Egyptian Red Devils on African soil spanning more than two years.

The Sea Robbers have fought and won many wars in the past but the battle on Saturday could prove tougher than all of them and will no doubt be planning to contain speedy livewire striker Abdelkarim Nafti and Sfaxien’s new Ghanaian signing Joetex Frimpong, leading scorer in the Champions League last year when playing for 2003 and 2004 winners Enyimba of Nigeria.

78 games UNBEATEN !! What kind with the Tunisian league bafwethu !?!?

Bucs hav a BIG chanc and theyv turnd it around suddenly in the ACL ... kinda like Arsenal last season in UCL...

You guys are progressing well enough ..its just your chances yu dont convert ... bt the whole of SA is behind you ..

would be great to see a much larger crowd for this game ...

I thik the guys (media) must really work on profiling these games and giving them that importance and coverage thats needed ... otherwise theyl forever take the stance of bieng 'JUST those games '

well well DGT and other fellow Bucs supporters ...

0-0 is purely unexeptable .. funny thing is , its not so surprising is it ...

yalls teams goal scoring drought should REALLY be a problem now , if U cant sore U cant win ...

Yall are in HUGE DWANG...locally and internationaly ...0-0 !!??

@Home, what th hells goin on !?! Ur seriosuly screwed for the next match now how are U goin t tun things around , remmeber yall were smacked 4-0 by asec away ...

alas your ONE GAME AWAY FORM TE FINAL !!!

COME ON !!!

PS: Isnt it disapointing the lack f hype African games get ? Sheesh !

The stadiums always half empty and its like theyr playing in firedlys or sumthing ...

LELO MBELE IS A PLONKER !!

I can't say we blew it because we didn't concede any goal. any goal that we score in the return leg will be very crucial.

when is the return leg BTW??

The tunisians will come FULL FORCE and ths wil test your defence ...also not only must U defend, U must ATTACK to score ...

if its still a stale mate then U have to got to penaties , now its bad enough if your @home , what if youv got the HOSTILE crowd against U , away from home and just minutes a way from THE FINAL

I dodnt know bro, I hear these Tunisians are HIGHLY ranked...

if we score the 1st goal, the tunisians might have serious problems.
