Kaizer Motaung, junior, walked away with the lion’s share of prizes at the Kaizer Chiefs’ end-of-season award presentation ceremony last night (Monday), picking up five prizes including Player’s Player and Player of the Year Awards.

The ceremony was held at the posh Monte Casino complex in Johannesburg.

The list of main prize winners is:

# Best Dressed Award (sponsored by Nike) - Thabo Mooki
# Fair Play - Rowen Fernandez
# Amakhosi Magazine Readers Choice Award - Kaizer Motaung, junior
# Player’s Player of the Year - Kaizer Motaung, junior
# Goal of the Year - Kaizer Motaung, junior (Kaizer Chiefs vs. Jomo Cosmos 13–09–2006)
# Top Goal Scorer - Kaizer Motaung, junior
# Discovery of the Year - Siyabonga Nkosi
# Most Improved Player - Serge Djiehoua
# Player of the Year - Kaizer Motaung, junior
# Chairmans Award - Trevor Phillips

Motaung Junior deserved all those awards. As for Serge most improved player I doubt. Just because he score three to four goals at the end of the season. Atleast Mototo could have been graced with that award. and Nkosi does'nt deserve any award this season instead they should have given Ngobese, because he won us the only SAA Supa 8 cup.

I also agree with you on Nkosi..he played kak this season. he doesnt deserve any award.....So Joeza, which team do u support?

Kaizer Chiefs’ striker Serge Djiehoua has delayed his off-season visit back to the Ivory Coast because he is still waiting to hear from the Amakhosi management whether his services will be needed next season.

Djiehoua said he is aware of earlier reports that he may be offloaded from Naturena at the end of this season and as such had called Bobby Motaung to clarify his future before boarding a flight back home to see his family.

“I am still waiting for Bobby to return my call. Hopefully, I will be able to meet him this week so that I go home next week.

“I picked up a number of injuries after arriving at the team but I was happy with the way my performance picked up towards the end of the season.”
